Day 23 - Skit, Rock Climbing and High Element!

I am looking forward to this day! We were brought to the army cadet facilities for exhilarating activities lined up for us. At the beginning, we had a short skit, flag, and costume design. After which, was rock climbing, trust fall, and high wire element!

Army Cadet Facilities
Welcome to the Army Cadet Facilities!

Flag Design
We split ourselves into three groups: MDE, LSCT, and ICT. Our task was to design a group flag, and dress ourselves up for a short skit.

Dress Code
We wore news paper wrappings as our costume.

Warrior Princess
The village people were attacked by an enormous dinosaur, and was rescued by the Warrior Princess and her minions.

Almost There!
This was my second try, and I almost reached the top. But at that point, my arms were exhausted and could not hold any longer. Thankfully, I was harnessed by the instructor who safely belayed me to the ground.

ISCM
Formation of our course, International Supply Chain Management!

Bgirl In The House
Break dancer An Yu and Roy with Baby Freeze!

Weight Lifter
Time for lunch, and we helped shift the safety mats to the storage room.

RC Instructor
Over lives were in the hands of this professional rock climbing instructor. We invited him to join us for lunch, but he wasn't available, too bad!

Elephant, Tiger, and Mouse
This is a group bonding game played between the various groups. It requires good coordination and prediction.

Free Fall
The only thing preventing me from hitting the ground is "Trust". That is, all my friends are reliable and there for me, and I would do likewise. Teamwork plays an important part as the weight is evenly distributed among each pair of support.

Leap of Faith
I was always told to have faith in myself. And this moment proved to be a success, as I took a daring jump across to the other platform.

Acrobat
While cheering my friends on to take the leap, I did an acrobatic stunt. What a great deal of activities today! This marks the end of the student activity, and it was a memorable one!

REFLECTIONS
From what I went through during the rock climbing, I felt that I have accomplished my own goal, as I could have actually reached the top. According to the instructor, my pace was a little too quick, which caused my arms to be exhausted during midway. He was confident that I could reach the top, but I failed. I tried couple of times more, but learned that after two attempts, the body is more or less worn out, and could not perform as well as the previous attempts. It is also a matter of mind over body, as I focused only on progressing, and conquer the fear of heights.

During the trust fall activity, I feared that I might hit the ground, but my trusty friends kept me confident. Teamwork is an important element to be successful. People always want to be the next "Bill Gates", but fail to realize that they can't do it on their own. Any successful man has a supportive team behind him, to keep his foundation deep into the ground from falling. That is an invaluable lesson I have learn for this activity.

A successful person is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks that others throw at him or her.
